Duke of Edinburgh's Award Expedition

Eleven members of the squadron participated in their Duke of Edinburgh's Award Expedition on the 4 - 5th of August 2001. The hike took place around Inverclyde and comprised a two day hike of 15 miles. The purpose of the expedition was to locate and investigate abandoned munitions tracks in the area. ( The unofficial purpose was to bring back evidence that the Garvock Witch existed, an investigation which would be considered too dangerous by HQ!)

At the start, no blisters, sunburn or fatigue.

We found the tracks! I told you we weren't lost!

Time for some investigation.

Good work, now time for a break.

At the end of the day, time to set up camp.

Things get cosy round the fire.

Time for marshmallows...

...and ghost stories!

Does anyone else think that the fire's out of control?

Camping out brings forth the caveman in Cpl Hastie.

At last, evidence that the Garvock witch exists!

The witch scares everyone else off, except for me and my trusty camera!

CWO Hastie isn't a morning person!

You guessed it, another break!
